The Good Batch

The Good Batch is a nice addition to the brunch scene. I love the simple menu that doesn’t spoil you for with too many choices, much like Yeast. Except Yeast has way too many pastries that I love and can’t seem to settle for one whenever I’m there. It brings the greedy side of me out.

Anyway, onto the food!

Parisien, The Good Batch

Parisien – Three layers of french toast sandwiching turkey ham slices with some cream sauce topped with sunny side up eggs. This dish is my absolute favourite!  Though it’s definitely not very parisien, it is a nice modified version of the croque monsieur!

Norwegian, The Good BatchNorwegian- I really like this combination. If you’ve been following my blog all these while, you’ll notice that this is the dish I order most for brunch. I’ve opted to omit the capsicum + onion combination as I hate capsicums!

The Good Batch, KL

Mexican – this was nothing special really, just roti canai wrapped with some chicken and capsicums. Thought it was quite bland and the stuff kept falling out!

The one dish that would keep me going back for more and more and more has got to be the Parisien. It is absolutely delicious!

The first thought of my every weekend mornings is this, where should we have brunch?

and Yeast would always lie at the back of my mind. It has become a place that I visit almost every weekend.

Sometimes when I feel like something light in the morning, I’d just grab an almond croissant with OJ or their sinful Valrhona hot chocolate. Other days when I feel like an absolute glutton, I’d go all out to indulge in these heavyweight items.

Eggs Benedict, YeastEggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon

Croque Monsieur, YeastCroque Monsieur with fries and their to-die-for aioli dip!

Quiche Lorraine, Yeast

Quiche Lorraine with smoked duck pieces

Calamansi Tart

My favourite dessert in KL, their calamansi tart. I love sour desserts, and this has got to be the best sour one I’ve ever had!

On non brunch related events, I was glad that I took Roseanne, Jacob and Yi Shen here for dinner. It was my first time having dinner here and thankfully it was the right place for our mini Melbourne reunion.

Chicken Roulade, yeast

Roasted chicken roulade with string beans and potatoes

Risotto with Butternut Squash & Duck Confit, Yeast

Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle, Yeast

Escargot, yeastEscargot served with bun and herb butter sauce.

You could check out this page on their Facebook for a general idea of how this place looks.

So here you go, one of my favourite places in Bangsar. Make sure you grab some takeaway almond croissants for your loved ones!

IMO, Chez Dre is one of the top brunch spots in Melbourne. They are always consistent with the quality of their food. Also, pretty and delicious desserts to satisfy that sweet tooth craving after a good brunch! Their menu changes quite frequently though. Each time I’ve visited this place, there has always been a change of menu. How I wish that they were still serving  their Jalapeno corn bread!

Croissant with scrambled egg and sausages

The vegie breakfast platter(with added smoked salmon) was huge! After being accustomed to Malaysian portions, I was finding it rather difficult to finish this platter myself! The steak and bacon sandwich was mouth watering and drool worthy!

Be sure to try the chocolate tart before you leave this place. It is the best dessert in the house!
