Nestled amongst the banking giants lies Twelve Cups.

A sip of their coffee and I was hooked! The latte I had was made with their in house roasted blend, which was fantastic. It was very aromatic and has got a good punch of acidity to it.

They have a wide variety of Mille Crepes here for you to choose from, almost like stepping in to a Nadeje store! Be sure to get their best seller Hokkaido Milk Choc Mille Crepe to go with your cuppa! And I got a cute little Snoopy with my cake…wouldn’t mind a Hello Kitty on my next visit :p

After two unsatisfying brunch experiences at Acme, I didn’t think I would find myself liking their food anymore. When Y suggested to head there for lunch, truth be told, I was dreading it because he kept chanting about how their lunch was pretty good and I didn’t wanna be a bubble pooper.

Alas, I was glad I went along quietly because I really enjoyed their small bites festive menu!

We had the Avocado Croquette, Sticky Nachos & Salt Egg Yolk Chicken Strips. Not in the picture would be the truffled root vegetable fries! Man, that was really good. In fact all of them were equally as awesome. Nothing could beat a truffled purple sweet potato fries for me though! I like how they did not skim on the ingredients and made sure everything came out fairly presentable and piping hot still.

Meatballs were nicely herbed, juicy and cooked in tomato fennel sauce. Winner would be the pasta. Rigatoni cooked al dente in Arrabiata sauce. Loved the smoky, a little spicy tomato sauce  pasta dish that was well cooked! Pretty impressed with it.

To avoid having to wait, please call them in advance to make a reservation. Yes, even for lunch. and yes, even on a weekday!

Life is too short for bad coffee…

Coffea Coffee, Bangsar

Coffea Coffee has got to be the latest place for coffee hipsters to hang out at. The place is usually packed after 8. If you’re not a fan of the buzz and noises, you’d be better off hitting this spot before the night crowd kicks in.

They serve only two types of coffee; Maestro or Madonna. Maestro is the American blend, which is a darker blend. My favourite has got to be Madonna, simply because it reminds me of Australian coffee; always packed with an acidic punch to it.

They also have my favourite chai latte. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but its definitely mine. It’s hard to find places that serve up decent chai latte. Most of the time they are really diluted, or the chai powder’s balance of spice is just wrong.

If you feel like having something non caffeinated, try out their Peanut Butter Latte. It’s one of their signature drinks. Subtle and light hints of caramel-ish peanut butter. If the weather’s too hot to bear, have a Berry Nana Smoothie!

*To provide you with a rough idea of where this place is, it’s on the same row as La Bodega, Yeast and Antipodean.
